Acouspade speakers in Palermo

A few Acouspade and Acouspade Clssic directional speakers have been installed at Mare Memoria Viva Ecomuseum in Palermo Sicily, Italy.

Installation by our partner Sinergie group.

The route of multimedia exhibits moves from the sea to the land, from the seabed of the Gulf of Palermo to the concrete covering the Conca d’oro told through stories of people and places, animals, plants, buildings. In the middle flows the Oreto river with a section devoted to its care, flora and fauna.

The sea acts as a metaphor and a common thread.

The archive is the living material on which we cultivate educational activities, work with artists, culturally based development processes and social capacitation.

The journey begins from the sea with an immersive installation on the seabed of the Gulf of Palermo and collects donations of personal photo books from several families from Palermo, Super 8 videos, interviews with residents of coastal neighborhoods, and with inhabitants who have a special connection with the sea, both professionally and as a hobby. The archive stems from ethnographic research and meetings, a map of communities, continuously enriched with stories: sailors, shipyard workers, the grandfather of Roberto Alajmo, a well-known writer, and the video shot at the beach of the family of Libero Grassi, later killed by the Mafia for standing up against racketeering, Giulia Petrucci’s memories of the last beach establishments and the fish-man Eliodoro Catalano along with many other faces and voices.
